Sisyphus, a cunning Greek King, twice escaped the clutches of Death. In the first instance, he managed to bind Thanatos, the Greek personification of Death, with chains, effectively halting the life-death cycle in the mortal world. However, this deathless battle angered Ares, the God of War, who soon freed Thanatos.

The second time, Sisyphus pre-planned his escape with his wife. He instructed her to withhold the proper rituals for his body after his death, allowing him to plead with Persephone, the wife of Hades, for a proper burial. This plan succeeded, and Sisyphus decided not to return to the Underworld until he died of old age.

When Sisyphus finally passed away, Zeus, the King of the Gods, intervened and devised a long and tedious punishment for him. The Greek King was condemned to roll a huge boulder uphill for eternity, only to have it roll back down once it reached the top.

This exquisite detail features the Greek King Sisyphus pushing the eternal boulder up the hills in the realm of Hades. Crafted with high-quality designer resin and sculpted by master artisans, the sculpture is cast using the Cold Cast Bronze technique, which blends resin and bronze to create a detailed piece with a metallic finish.

Measuring L 11 1/4 * W 4 3/4 * H 8 1/8 Inches, this sculpture is a perfect gifting and home decor option for all collectors. The Cold Casting technique ensures a stunning and durable piece that will captivate and intrigue anyone who lays eyes on it.
